About the Club
Langton Lane Swimming Club is an expansion of Joy Lane Swimming Club in Whitstable, Kent.
Our teaching programme is designed with the idea of learning through having fun and enjoying being confident in the water.
Our small groups (maximum 5 swimmers) ensures each child gets lots of attention in their half hour lesson and the instructor is always in the water too. Swimming benefits everyone regardless of age, gender, culture and physical ability. It is an individual and team sport that encourages healthy interaction with groups. Swimming creates opportunity for obtaining professional qualifications, and vocational skills, leading into all areas of the sport and leisure industry.
Swimming increases confidence in children that extends into all areas of their life.
Swimming is beneficial for all physical ailments including asthma and arthritis. Furthermore, it is a non impact sport, ideal for injury rehabilitation and prevention.
Our aim is to increase swimming and water awareness to all ages and swimming abilities.
Langton Lane Swimming Club endeavours not only to have every child in Kent swimming, but also to provide pool time and specialized training, to all members of the community.
Swimming is BIG in the sporting, and political arenas, both internationally and in England, with so many medals won in the Beijing Olympics so recently.
It is with this inspiration that we welcome interest from any individuals or groups wanting to find out how they can incorporate swimming into their various training programmes.
